Application of Optical Vision Measurement System in PCB Industry
With the rapid development of PCB industry and the continuous introduction of special components, surface mount components tend to be miniaturized and multifunctional, which has prompted the design of printed circuit boards and the manufacturing technology of printed circuit boards to develop in the direction of high density, high reliability and high precision to meet the development and needs of miniaturization and multifunctionality of electronic products.
Moreover, PCB products are also developing rapidly in the direction of ultra-thin, small components, high density and fine pitch. The assembly density of components on circuit boards has increased, and the line width, spacing and pads of PCBs have become smaller and smaller, reaching the micron level, and the number of composite layers has increased.
The traditional manual visual inspection (MVI) and needle bed in-circuit testing (ICT) detection are due to "limited contact" (limited electrical contact and limited visual contact), and can no longer fully meet the needs of the development of today's manufacturing technology. It is usually necessary to drill holes of various sizes on PCBs, and the geometric size and position of the holes after processing will affect the subsequent assembly process with IC components and other electronic devices.
On the other hand, due to the large number of round holes on the PCB board, traditional MVI and ICT technologies can no longer adapt to such a fast process. Based on the requirements of production capacity and quality, a fast and precise detection method is extremely needed. In view of this, the PCB circuit board industry has developed a fully automatic optical image detection system to monitor and ensure the quality of the production process, which has become an inevitable demand for the PCB board manufacturing industry.
The role of the optical vision measuring and detection system
The optical vision measurement system is a key equipment for modern manufacturing machinery and is widely used in machine vision application fields such as detection, reverse engineering and other automation industries.
With the development of high-tech industries, many product detection methods in the past are now required to be detected by automated and non-contact methods.
Taking the PCB industry as an example, the role of the optical vision detection system is to detect the size specifications of the PCB during the manufacturing process, perform process control, and eliminate or reduce defects by correcting the process.
The optical image detection system is usually placed in a key position to monitor the specific production status and provide the necessary basis for the adjustment of the production process.
In the PCB manufacturing process, the items to be detected include: film thermal expansion and contraction detection, product appearance detection, element position detection, length, width and height detection, true straightness detection, true roundness detection, hole burr detection, etc.
