iqualitrol XCut-340 (Q-2) can be used to cut various metal or non-metal specimens (select different cutting disc according to different materials) so as to observe the metallographic and lithofacies structure.
XCut-340 (Q-2) features high performance, low noise and high finish of specimen cutting sections, etc. And has nice appearance and it is easy to operate safely and reliably.
Since XCut-340 (Q-2) metallographic cutting machine is equipped with a cooling device, it is used to take away the heat generated during cutting, thus avoiding the sample to change its metallographic structure when it is heated.
The ideal and necessary specimen preparation instrument used in factories, scientific research institutes and colleges, etc.
When cutting a specimen from a larger piece of material, care must be taken to ensure that it is representative of the features found in the larger sample, or that it contains all the information required to investigate a feature of interest.
One problem is that preparation of the specimen may change the microstructure of the material, for example through heating, chemical attack, or mechanical damage. The amount of damage depends on the method by which the specimen is cut and the material itself.
Cutting with abrasives may cause a high amount of damage, while the use of a low-speed diamond saw can lessen the problems.
